Washington National Cathedral, Washington DC
Construction of this building started in 1907 with the placing of the foundation stone in the presence of President Theodore Roosevelt and spectators of 20,000 people.
The setting up of the final hip knob took place in 1990 with President George H.W. Bush in attendance.
It is the fourth tallest building in Washington, DC, and the second-largest church building in the US.

Empire State Building, New York City
The Empire State Building serves as the never-ending symbol of New York City and the US. It is an art deco architecture standing 104 stories high and jutting out in the skyline to more than 1450 feet in Midtown Manhattan. You can visit this building on the open-air deck on the 86th floor or on the 102nd floor, which has a windowed lookout.

Jefferson Memorial, Washington, D.C.
You can find this building at the west end of the National Mall with water in the foreground, adding beauty to this open-air pantheon.
This structure commemorates Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States of America and the principal author of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Designed by John Russell Pope and constructed by John McShain. It sits in place near the Tidal Basin of the Potomac River.
This neoclassical memorial was finished in 1947 and is a perfect place to see beautiful cherry blossoms during spring. Jefferson Memorial is open 24 hours, and admission is free.
United States Capitol, Washington, DC
William Thornton, a British-American architect, designed this building and completed it in 1800. It is a stunning example of the neoclassical style in architecture.
The addition of the iconic dome happened in the 1850s. It made the overall look of the building more impressive. It is situated on Capitol Hill at the east end of the National Mall and houses the judicial and legislative branches of the federal government.
If you want a guided tour, you have to obtain passes beforehand. But you can enter the building for free.
Chapel of the Holy Cross, Sedona, Arizona
August K. Strotz and Richard Hein designed this acclaimed building. Marguerite Brunswig Staude ordered them to build this structure.
The red rocks encompassing the whole structure of the chapel is amazing. It makes the view spectacular and unique.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Dallas, Texas
It is a modern building complete with a futuristic appearance with sharp angles.
The overall look can make the viewer see it twice. The architecture firm Morphosis constructed this building situated in Dallas, Texas. Because of its futuristic look, it is one of the most cutting-edge structures ever built in the US.

Bertrand Goldberg designed the famous Marina City in Chicago. It is a complex of two residential towers shaped like a “corn cob”. The towers consist of perforated circular structures containing parking spaces for cars. The first 19 floors of each tower served as a car park.

Saint Louis Cathedral, New Orleans, Louisiana
A splendid example of Spanish Renaissance architecture is the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This church building is one of the most famous landmarks in New Orleans. St. Louis Cathedral is the oldest active Roman Catholic Church in the US.
Built in 1727 and dedicated to King Louis of France, it burned down in 1794. But it was later rebuilt. The existing structure was completed in the 1850s.
Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina
This building is a Château-style mansion with 250 rooms. It is the largest private home in the country and is part of an estate that has 8,000-acres. The Vanderbilts previously owned this place, and they were once the wealthiest family in the US.
Architect Richard Morris Hunt, a friend of George W. Vanderbilt, built this mansion. George Vanderbilt opened this house to his family and friends on December 24, 1895. Tickets for visiting the mansion will cost you $60-85 per adult.
On the other hand, kids are free most of the time when accompanied by a paying adult.
Washington Dulles International Airport
Located in Chantilly, Virginia, this building has a curved and sleek design made by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen. Saarinen was commissioned in 1958 to build this airport terminal.
He designed the terminal to exhibit ideas of movement and flight since it is an airport. This monumental building has concrete, glass, and steel with a curved roof braced by cables.
